Hello everyone

i'm working on a fingeprint recognition system to use in a small stand-alone machine.
i want to use a dspic, so i have just a little memory to put the algorithm software on. maybe 144 k or so, if i don't find some more memory (maybe external memory?).
what i need to know is , which is the least computationally expensive process for fingeprint recognition? i have a database of 4 or 5 max fingerprints, so i don't need an exceptional quickness, neither an outstanding precision rate.
i see most processes rely on a robust image enhancement. Is there a point in reducing it?

i thank u in advance for your help
please don't let me alone :(
