a general question on transforms

Is there any transform which has an analysis equation with spaces not orthogonal to each other?
 

while my answer is "dont know", I wonder how such a transform could be useful, because every transform is a way to untangle a knotty problem into independent threads that can be easily handled, in my understanding.
