hi,
my friend sent me this circuit for my 9v power supply. He told me that he used to build it when he was younger and it gave him very good regulation. I am not sure on the current limiting PNP transistor i should use, its collector resistor, the 2 base resistors...
You need 12Vac transformer ( 60...75VA or bigger )
10A / 100Vmin. bridge or diodes
Filter capacitors
trimmer pot. and few resistors
and a LM338K in TO-3 case assembled in large enough finned heat sink
You're talking about a -10% error in current limit, which could
easily be from component tolerances, board design, etc. Or
input source sagging. An excellent opportunity to hone your
bench debug skills.
