Companies in the electronics industry are increasingly seeking outside support in printed circuit board design. 911EDA has expanded its engineering capabilities significantly over the past year with core services including PCB engineering in hardware, software, and firmware design by adding three engineers with substantial experience and expertise, bringing its engineering staff to seven full time engineers. 911EDA has also expanded its PCB layout team to twelve full time designers using Altium Designer, PADs PowerPCB, and Cadence Allegro. This expansion in core services has been a major contributor to increased sales volume and revenue growth.
A large part of the substantial growth in 2013 resulted from 911EDA’s engineering team. Jeff Brayshaw, 911EDA’s Engineering Manager, has 24 years of experience and led 911EDA’s engineering team in completing 16 major engineering projects along with 24 smaller projects. The majority of these projects were developed from customer concepts, taken from concept through production and testing, and included each phase of the design from hardware design, software design, and firmware design through board bring up and test as well as UL and FCC certification support. Customers have also successfully utilized 911EDA’s simulation, EMI analysis, and thermal analysis solutions. According to Brayshaw, “Customers are looking for a single company to take their project from concept to production. 911EDA has developed its team of engineers to provide high-end engineering capabilities to support customers throughout their design process.”
911EDA’s PCB layout services also grew significantly in volume in 2013. To accommodate this growth, 911EDA opened an office in Boston in addition to its San Diego office to best serve its customers across the United States. Tony Pereira, 911EDA’s Design Manager in Boston says, “Opening our new Boston office has been incredibly successful, bringing in a lot of new customers and providing even better service to customers on the east coast.” 911EDA’s customer base and sales volume has increased in its San Diego office considerably as well. Leonard Alexman, 911EDA’s Design Manager in San Diego says, “Our growing staff and increasing capabilities has allowed us to support even more customers with even more complex designs, offering a complete suite of services. We have been successful in supporting our existing customer base as well as our new customers.”
In addition to front end engineering and PCB layout services, 911EDA now offers full design auditing services. Customers are taking advantage of this service to improve the functionality of their circuit boards, decrease manufacturing costs and yield, and update outdated parts. In addition to this, designs can be updated to comply with RoHS standards and meet UL and FCC compliance requirements.
911EDA President Ryan O’Connor says, “Increasing our sales volume and revenues in 2013 largely resulted from increased capabilities in both engineering and PCB layout services. We are able to support more customers with increasingly complex designs from start to finish, a core competency that sets 911EDA apart from its competition.” 911EDA will continue to expand and refine its core competencies in the coming years to provide the high level of support customers are demanding. 911EDA prides itself on being the best provider of engineering and design services, serving customers across the United States.
