I am trying to design a circuit to take a 15 V ac sine wave and get a TTL clock signal that is +5 V. I want to use a Schmitt trigger inverter, because those are available. I don't have much background in analog circuit design. I drew up a basic design:

Basically, its a half-wave rectifier, and voltage divider. The value of the resistors are chosen to obtain a 5 V half-wave rectified voltage where the Schmitt trigger is connected so that there is no negative component.
Can somebody please tell me if there are any problems with the design? I got some ideas from this thread on the forums: https://www.edaboard.com/threads/207848/
