keyboard simulator

Hi,
i want to design a pc interface for one of the old 4X4 matrix keyboard.
i there any way which i can do this with a controller ?

Hi

Use a controller with USB for interfacing the PC and controller I/O for interfacing the keypad

As far as i remember RENESAS have application note describing the same

you can also use FTDI or CYpress chip for the same - using the cypress is even a bit easy since they have I/O chip for USB connection (a small preprogrammed microcontroller with I/O line who can be controller over USB using s software DLL)
