two stage mixer

Some low-IF RX use 2 stage mixer. What's the advantage of the 2 stage mixer compared with 1 stage mixer?

advantages of two stage mixer

When translating a signal from a very high frequency to a very low frequency, a current-commutating CMOSmixer always suffers from large flicker noise at its output. This can submerge the weak received signal, which lies at lowIF at the mixer output.
