yellowtooth said:Element7k,
MyCPU speed is about 633MHz, and RAM maybe 128MB.
And today morning, I tried again, with the same error message "insufficient memory".
I am on holiday now (China National Day), so I simulated it on my own computer, tomorrow I will try it on university's computer.
2GHz*10min=633MHz*????
???=half day !!!

Indeed the China is a developing country now.
So I have not 512MB RAM yet.
Just a joke.

it's great to see such a hot theme. my last post about multilayer problems sinks deeply in page 1.it has baffled me many days.can u help me?
1, how to simulate the antenna accurately?
2, how to make the most of the additional metal layers?
3, does the design bring much fabricating difficulties?
sincerely,
kayaoo

my computer is 850+256M.it works,i mean, "works". the ram is so expensive this day. but i think an athlon3.2G+512M computer is coming soon.
hi, element7kElement7k said:At least from what I am working on, I think the trend is towards modular design and usually there is a section that does RF chips and other stuff and antenna design by another section or usually contracted out to other antenna companies so the more independent the better.
Ghost Tweaker said:Hi everyone,
I'm getting started with HFSS and your posts really help. Which file do I import when I want to simulate your antenna ? *.sm3, *.sml ? Until now I only got the antenna 3D model but no information about excitation, boundary and so on imported?!?
Thanx in advanceGhost
Element7k said:Hi EIRP!,
I was intending to do that but files are too big(75MB) :? When I have time I will detail the steps I took in H/F/S/S in pdf and hopefully everyone can have a look and then give some comments, point out any mistake or any improvements that can be made to the simulation. 8)
I didn't use PML for this project. However, I can imagine that it cannot be very much different. I will think instead of a lambda/4 box, you can use a lambda/10 box.
Cheers,

please can you post your hf$$ project also?
You know I'm still curious about pml settings there.
Thanks in advance, buddy!!
