Hi, I'm using Atmel's new FPSLIC for my undergrad project. Its a 5k-gate FPGA with an 8-bit AVR on 3cm x 3cm chip. The only problem is that the System Designer development software that Atmel provides, uses Leonardo Spectrum v2002 for HDL synthesis. And Leonardo S. requires a license. So because of one component in the system Designer suite, I cant use the FPSLIC chip that I bought. Is there any way to get around this? Maybe I can use another software for HDL synthesis and still be able to use System Designer for the rest? Any suggestions will be helpful. Thanks!
