Hi,

I have a power amplifier datasheet and wanted to understand the following specifications better. Please help!

The drain to source voltage (Vds) for the power amplifier is stated to be 30V. However the drain - gate voltage (Vdg_PEAK) is stated to be 80V (DC + RF) in the specifications.
What is the relevance of the 80V specifications? is this is applied gate voltage.. seems very high!!

If you fix Vg, Vd will have DC+AC(peak) due to Amplifier's class, it's permissible max. voltage Drain and Gate.

The Vds you quote PROBABLY is the MAXIMUM allowed voltage. So the nominal voltage during use will be smaller than that.
