4021 and 74hc(t)195

What's the major differences between them. I tried 4021 and it worked for my project. So it seems enough for now. But i wonder must i choose the other one especially for future designs which may need higher speeds?
And from the view of reliability etc which one must be chosen according to you?

pardon it was 74hc595. Speed is one difference. Operating voltage is second i think according to the model. I wonder application based tips. If anyone who have used both may say something that anyone can't see in a first look.
