Can anybody tell me how to do functional verification of microprocessor?

YOu may verify the instruction set one by one , and run the random test program,

http://ugp3.sourceforge.net

describes such a system. In the download area, you can find the previous version, named ugp-2.7.0. The random assembly program is generated by some GA.

The uGP2 is avail here (free, GPLed):
h**p://www.cad.polito.it/research/microgp.htm

Only problem -> NO DOCUMENTATION!

Some of their papers give examples of a processor description file (macros and instruction formats) for use with ugp.

Are you verifying an IC design? Or you are trying to verify the microprocessor in a system?
