wirewould resistors as rfc

can wirewound resistors act as a reliable rfc coil? there are varing sorts of them which have wide inductance ranges. Typically they are anywere from 400uH to 1.5mH.

They are resistors, and this is how they should be used.
Wirewound means they by design (accidentally) have some stray inductance.
Maybe some "typical" inductance is given, but I won´t rely on that.
You can´t be sure it is constant with temperature, with mechanical stress (vibration), from batch to batch...

Why not use an inductor as an inductor? If you use a wirewound resistor as an inductor it's going to be a pretty lousy inductor because of the added resistance.
