ON Semi has perfected this resonant half bridge primary side current or voltage regulator in a chip.

see the excellent Application Design Note ADN9131 in my blog. Using NCL310080,1,2,3 chip.

No Opto's needed for load current sensing

-Using Critical Valley Current sensing circuit for PWM to detect Flyback discharge time independent of ESR or leakage inductance normal variances.

- low Rsense drop and insensitive to usual tolerances on important but low cost external parts or input Vac 10% variations or LED Vf variations.


Other goodies on LED drivers and thermal sensors too and heat removal.
