7 Segment Display that displays numbers and letters

Can anyone help me with it? Without the use of codes, just breadboard, resistors, wire, seven segment, IC, etc (I don't know the other materials needed, so please list if I am missing something, and what IC I need). How would the circuit look like? Thank you in advance :)

*alphabet [A-Z, not just hexa, I'm aware, though, that not all characters can be displayed there]
 

The 7 segment display is for numerals (although you can also have A-b-C-d-E-F).

To display letters, you need a 15-segment alphanumeric display (the kind with additional diagonal segments). From that point everything becomes more complicated.
