Hello,

I have a doubt regarding the reverse direction data transmission in high speed serial links, such as MIPI's Display Serial Interface(DSI).

Typically, in a DSI, image data is sent from the host chip to the device chip(Display unit), as low voltage high-speed differential signal(serial bits are transmitted). However, the standard also allows for data transmission(at low speed) back from the display unit to the host chip. I want to understand why does the need for such a reverse data arise, i.e. what kind of data is transmitted in a practical scenario?

Thanks in advance for any help on this!

Best regards!
