hi,
I am having a problem with Ie3D regarding the gain-frequency plot. When I take the max directivity and the radiation efficiency data and use Gain(dBi)=Directivity(dBi)+10log(rad efficiency),it is different from the gain frequency plot that IE3D is showing. If I take antenna efficiency instead of rad efficiency, the result is quite same. But then the definition of gain should not include the reflection loss.I would appreciate if someone can help.

I don't know how the gain is defined in IE3D, perhaps you could look in the documentation. But there are mainly two types of Gain definitions, one that include the return loss and one that doesn't. So probably IE3D calculates the gain by including the return loss.
