I have been using the AD7730 for a while now but until recently if I wanted to tare a weight off my system then I did it by software on the PC side.
I want to do this now using the AD7730's calibration functions, the documentation on how to do this is vague at best . I am using bi-polar mode so I can use tension and compression and so my zero is at 8388608 (im using 24-bit mode). With no force/weight applied I get 8277514 or there abouts, I want to now tare this back to my zero point of 8388608.
