can some one please help me interface a gsm module or a moderm to my PIC18F4585 microcontroller

Interface both of them using a Max 232 Ic on both ends. Modem uses serial communication. Modem has Max232 Ic. make sure your controller also has MAx232. connect Tx to rx and Rx to Tx and pin 5 common ground. USe AT commands to communicate controller and GSM modem.

There are many many old threads that address this issue. please search in this forum
