in my project i use a microcontroller to read or write data to pen drive, how is it possible? which chip can i use?if i want to send data from pen drive to get a audio output,then what will be the circuit diagram?what steps should be taken? please reply as soon as possible.

There are plenty of posts at edaboard related to the same topic. Mostly FTDI vinculum and processors with USB host capability, eg. Microchip PIC24FxxGB or Atmel AT90USB1286 or discussed. Microchip has complete example projects for USB memory interface.
