Weekly Repeat Cycle Timer

I need to make an electronic timer that will be ON 6 days straight and OFF the 7th day. After the 7th day it will repeat the circuit. Can anyone help me? If anyone can give me a link to a schematic that would be great.

In some stores you can buy a 7x7-day timer with an internal backup battery, power relay and LCD display for less than $10 ..
If, however, you want to do this as an exercise, you can consider a small microcontroller [such as PICAXE or PIC (or any other micro)] and RTC [real-time-clock – DS1307] and start this project from the scratch ..
