Tvbgone, is a remote control that consist one, very interesting function
- it can turn off all the tv's in his range. One button and you can enjoy the silence. It is a high power version (1W). that doesn't look like a remote control! It's just a normal flash light, so great fun is quarantined
Technical aspect is an 1W IR LED, with wave range 940nm. Most of the
TV's works with 940nm wave range, so using LED with different (e.g.
850nm) cause much less range. All device is very simple. Microcontroler
Attiny85 is adjust to 115 most popular European TV's and 115 USA. After
turn on the "flash light", current goes to integrated circuit, sending one after another all codes to TV's, and after that goes to power down mode. You can also turn down the "flash light" while sending codes, simple pressing the power button. TV gone is default set to US region, but you can easily changed to European by solder R1 resistor. LED diode need a collimator to concentrate flash flux. The one I used is 25* so it has good range. If you want to get a lot TV's from short distance, you need collimator with wide angle for example 45*
Tool is minimalist version of ladyad, without reset button, visual working diode, and more.
Power from three AAA batteries, so voltage is 5V (when batteries are new). Max current for this kind of diode is 750mA get in 2V. Current is not limit at any way, diode is flash just for split second.
