I want to apply contact or coupling control on a system

Contact Control

Hi all,

I designed an ultrasonic system with piezoelectric on 1MHz frequency with AVR microcontroller.

I want to design a system that able to find contact of piezoelectric with surface!!!
In other words,I want to apply contact control or coupling control on this system.

On this issue,My idea is that I design a analog circuit that measures voltage variation with Load and free.Next feed it to the microcontroller and use this.

Am I true?
Please let me know your opinion about this issue.
