hi
I am new to PCB designing using (PROTEUS ARES) Please tell me what is the explanation of drill mark,in (PROTEUS ARES )
i have made a pad style with pad diameter of 80 thou, and drill hole dia of 40,i kept drill mark 40(thoug i dont know what it is used for ),also i have pads of 70,30
(default pads) with drill mark 25,if u view it on monitor screen u can c that 80 40 pad is bigger than 70 30,with obvious difference in drill hole, but on the contrary
if u take print out on paper,u can c that in 80, 40 pad the drill hole is too small,
plz help me with this, for now i am using 70 30 pad .

drill mark pcb

Hi shakeel,

Drill mark is used fir just indicating the particular drill suppose that you have given drill mark for drill of 40 and 30 as A and B respectively then the size of drill mark will be the size of letters A and B.
As far as drill of 80/40 being visible very small it might be due to scaling during Gerber generation.

hope this might help you.

Regards,
Ricky
