centos version

hi folks

I am planning to use the following EDA's

Synopsys Design Compiler 2001
Cadence first encounter 2.2 "2002"
Mentor IC flow 2006
Mentor Calibre 2004

as you can see they are relatively old

so what version of RHEL or CentOS is compatiple with them

please help
thanks

best centos version

centos2.1, centos4.6

centos version check

should use RHEL 3 or 4, completely dump centos.

how to know the centos version

i dont know much about mentor/synopsys tools. but if you have plan for cadence hell noo! go for redhat 3 or 4. avoid a big mess later. i had been through !

centos eda

the real question is what is your machine?
the software you have mentioned are all old and hence work only on 2.4 kernel.
new machines are not recognized by older 2.4 kernel(up to RHEL 4.4). new version RHEL5 dose recognise the hardware but do not work well with old software.

Do not use any fancy distribution like suse and ubentu and bla bla bla.
stick to rhel and its clones like scientific Linux and cent OS.

install the software from media and use Assume kernel 2.4 option.
RHEL 5 and 5.1 has libs for kernel 2.4 as well as 2.6.

best of luck. need any help you ask in the forum. when successful post the installation procedure in detail so that others can benifit.
hock

best cent os version

RHEL 3 or 4 and th same version as CentOS

centos user profile

I recently started a migration to RHEL5 and so far most tools worked out very well; Mentor, Synopsys, Novas, etc., given that these releases are in/after 2007; haven't tried anything before that. Also CentOS 5.2 should be fine with necessary dependencies resolved. But don't take my words for it!

Good luck

centos rhel version

I am using RHEL4 to run those EDA tools.

latest centos version

Centos3.9 may be ok.

Also check that with centos 4.7.

red hat el to centos version compare

Is here anybody who can put a few words about IC6 installation on CentOS 5.2?

I tried to do that, but unsuccessfully!
Details are:
Installation of CentOS 5.2 passed fine.
However during IC 6.13 installation I met a problem with unpacking by means of gzip of some files with extention .t.Z
System reply was (for example):
gzip: /tmp/spectrei61.03.t.Z corrupt input
use zcat to recover some data

My trying to unpack directly the mentioned file by zcat again replied --> corrupt input

Are there anybody who met such a problem?

should i use rhel

here are the steps

I followed them and I installed it successfully

centos+which version to use

rhel have better support for EDA Tools...

how to know my centos version

I use a Centos 5 for Mentor and Synopsys.
The executable script had corrected in Mesntor.
Synopsys executes without corrected
