Problem with I/O assignment in SOC Encounter

anybody know about SOC Encounter?
i am having a problem in I/O assignment?
i mean i am not able to add I/O pad to my design
and for this i need .io file
so from where i will get this file?
plz help

Hai ,

In design menu , we have save - IO file option.
Using this you save ".io file' , and edit it to introduce new pad and reload it using io assigment file option desing import menu .

In Design Menu we have--- IO information--at the bottom
there it is asking about I/O Assignment
and the file i should enter should be .io file
so,you are saying that using save option save the .io file
but i am saying that from where i will get this .io file so that i can make the changes.
do i have to browse it.
plz help

He is my friend and he is an employee..He is working in a backend design field and the company name is qualcore logic hyderabad

how to get the io pads in encounter?

You can see dtmf.io file which comes with workshoplab1.pdf in DTMF tutorial directory for Cadence FE.

i have seen this dtmf.io and tried this as an input to my design but it didn't work
so do i have to change something in this file
 

SOC Encounter

You should also be able to add it to the .def file if you have a DEF of your design.
