cadence ic6.10 installation on ubuntu7.10

ic6 cadence

I have installed the cadence ic6.10 on the ubuntu7.10,but I have seen some problem,when I type the commond "lmgrd -c license.dat"


that's erro

18:31:17 (lmgrd) Can't make directory /usr/tmp/.flexlm, errno: 2(No such file or directory)
18:31:17 (lmgrd) Can't make directory /usr/tmp/.flexlm, errno: 2(No such file or directory)
18:31:17 (lmgrd) Can't open /usr/tmp/.flexlm/lmgrdl.31958, errno: 2

when I make the director /usr/tmp/.flexlm .the first erro was fixed.but "Can't open /usr/tmp/.flexlm/lmgrdl" can't fixed.

that's my ev

Do the ubuntu7.10 support the cadence ic6.10?

Added after 8 minutes:

I prepare to install the opensuse 10.2. someone had installed the cds ic6.10 on opensuse10.2.and successful.

I don't know what 's the problem.

I would recommend you stick with RPM based distribution for EDA.
Experience talking.

Ubuntu guys don't do the hardcore development and have no idea what YOU really need as a non standard user.

Stick with either Red Hat based distribution or a Suse one.

If your friend has suse, use suse at least he/she will support you in difficult times.

install cadence ic6

try
/home/eda/ic610/tools/bin/lmgrd -c /home/eda/ic610/share/license/license.dat -l /tmp/cadence.log
 

cadence license.dat

diffrence?

can anyone let me know that IC5.1 is compatible with SUSE-9 OS
 

ubuntu usr/tmp .flexlm cannot create directory

how can i install ic6 at centos. i didn't know about command line. pls help me ! i have to install for my study

Create a symbolic link to /tmp in /usr so it looks like:
/usr/tmp -> /tmp
Then all your license servers should start without a problem.

You must have write permissions to /cad/is //I was installing this as a root
There must be atleast 80 MB of disk space available in // i have 18 GB free space
/cad/is
