i need help in interfacing LCD

Hi friends ,

This is praveen from hyd, friends i need help in interfacing LCD with PIC 16f877 controller.I m fresher and learning controller programing using Hitech PIC C complier in MPlab.Please help me in programing LCD interface and where can i get material so that i can develop programing skills

Dear friend,

Since u r a fresher for Embedded, try to use 8051 microcontrollers instead of PIC. U can refer 8051 architecture and programming by Mohd Ali Mazidi, where u can get all the materials needed for LCD interfacing.

You can find a lot of code for PICs with HiTech C here:

They have examples of both character and graphic LCDs, as well as many other examples.

hmm.. well praveen,

i have not used PIC but i think the logic for interfacing will be same as other MCU.

for that you have to read the datasheet of LCD properly.
and also take care of the commands used for it.
please search data sheet of LCD and check for the commands.

if you dont hacve any problem canb you tell what you have done..??
so people can help you from ther and your work also will be a bit easy..:|
