laymen understanding of clock

clock is nothing but a switch . see if u enter into a room u vl be having many switches like for fan,light,AC, washing machine.. now if u want have light means u vl switch on particular switch for light r8.. this is nothing but clock. u r allowing that flip flop to active by giving clock..

see how cts is done is similar to this normal observation

main clock source is main power supply in your home, where u can shutdown/on k
cts means checking of power in all switch board and switches(wiring in ur house)
setup - means it is nothing but the time taken by the flipflop get ready to get new data
hold - the time to hold data by ff


guys on thing keep in ur mind soc tool is dumb..if v got error means only thing that we dint gave input correctly.

critisicsm is appreciated ..! plz tell wat do u thing abt this
 

Need not be user error always. pnr tools need to consider all the cells when placing so it can happen that placement is not correct. I wouldnt say tools are dumb either considering the number of instances they need to work on.
