Hi everybody,

I'm looking for a manufacturer of barium-strontium-titanate capacitors. I can only find information about scientific-related or in-house processes, while I need discrete commercial components. Does anybody knows if those are actually on the market?

Thanks in advance.

Agile seems to provide them to the military and commercial applications: **broken link removed**

There may be hoops and hurdles to purchase from that company. It is located in California, USA.

Hello andrear,

I am with one of the BST thin film capacitor manufacturers, please contact me to provide you not only samples, but rapid prototyping and high volume if needed, plus
all other high valume manufcaturers list you shall know. FYI Agile RF can only design BST varactors mainly.

Thanks

Also Parateck in NH, USA. But you will probably find these types of companies are not interested in selling only a few capacitors--they are busy trying to sell millions of circuits to cell phone manufacturers.

Exactly, its a component that requires special design considerations and used to integrate in ceramic or higher levels of integration in design of parts.
YOu can't simply solder 0.1 pF parts without parasitic interference. If you want to tune by voltage , learn to use reverse biased diodes and select the ones best suited for your application and decouple them from interference and use small signals to reduce non-linearity effects.
