i need VGA controller code as i have few problems with my code

please tell me how we can load image on xilinux for edge detection(sobel operator) using vhdl only, without use of matlab or other software.
is it possible?
 

sir,
my .jpeg or any other format image is stored in computer.
i am not using any fpga kit.
i want to load it on xilinx using vhdl for sobel edge detection algo.
for edge detection algo in which format image must be loaded on xilinx?
is any conversion of format is required?

pls tell some ref./code for this.

plss can somone help me for sobal edge detection code in vhdl...i dont hav any idea about it. or any idea how to write it. i m new to vhdl and n lime for digital image processing. kindly help me
