Hi,
I am trying to use a usb to serial adapter in my lap for burning PIC. I used TINYBOOTLOADER and WINPIC earlier in my desktop for the same purpose. Now I downloaded the USB to RS232 driver software from this link.https://www.usbfirewire.com/manualsdrivers/USBFireWire_Win7_3264.zip. Now the TINYBOOTLOADER is working fine with this adapter. It is connected to PORT20. But the problem is I couldn't connect WINPIC. I mean I couldn't see any PORT20 or the USB to RS232 driver name in the Intertface Type selection option in winpic. Can any body help me? Below are some screen shoots of TINYBOOTLOADER(working) and WINPIC.

Most of the softwares that uses serial port will work only with ports upto 8(com8).

It is always better to keep free the first eight ports for these purpose.

Try connecting your device to some lower number com port..

So how could I change the PORT? After installing the driver it is showing it on PORT20.
You mean I should make it to some thing below 4? If so, how?
