Hi all,
I have a 36-port S-parameter touchstone file. I need to find the equivalent RLC component of this file. Please tell me how I should proceed about doing this. I am using ADS, so please tell me if I shall be able to do the required in ADS?

Thanks.

Spice Model Generator can be used for this.

Hi Bigboss,

Hope it is not too late to ask you another question about using broadband Spice Model Generator.

I have tried to use Spice Model Generator in ADS. There are two ways to generate the spice: Narrowband and Broadband.

I tried narrowband and found that it can generate Lumped equivalent circuit, but the frequency response obtained is too far away from the expected one. I was using s-parameter of a LPF. The model generated by narrowband Spice Model Generator showed a wrong cut-off frequency and poor inband performance. The only right thing the narrowband Spice Model Generator did was the lowpass response (thank godness, it didn't show a highpass or bandpass...)

I am still trying to use broadband Spice Model Generator in ADS, it is said that it can generate more accurate equivalent lumped circuit, but it looks much more complicated compared with narrowband Spice Model Generator.

Would you please give some hints about using broadband Spice Model Generator to extract RLC equivalent circuit from s-parameter file?

Much appreciate for your help!

Regards

Yang
