Hi

In the datasheet of a high speed comparator (LT1719, 2.5 ns rise time) I see recommendation for 1206 10nF ceramic cap for bypass.

My question is why 1206? for example 0603 takes less space and has a lot less parasitic inductance. But I recall seeing recommendation for 1206 ceramic bypass caps for other parts as well. Why is that?

Thanks
Akos

For this brand of ceramics (X7R) is practically no dependence of characteristics of thecapacitor's size !
Just an example of PCB is given for this size.

Smaller body sizes generally have lower ESL but a commercial
part BOM often puts price first.
