Hi,
I have a schematic diagram of a device and also measurement of the device in the form of graph.i want to simulate design so that its match the measurement curve i already have.Curve have different peaks at different frequency if it is possible to do with ADS using optimization.I dont know the goal expression what should i write for curve i have data of the curves from 1 GHZ to 10 Ghz.

Regards,
Shoaib

You might be able to export the target graphical data to a text file of some kind. Once in a text file, you could use a Data Access Object(?) to look into the file and pull out the performance characteristics versus frequency (i.e. Insertion loss vs. freq). If you can get the DAO to give you the same plot (say plot it using ports 3 & 4), and you can plot your desired "matched circuit" response using ports 1 & 2, then your goal equation would be to make dB(S21)-dB(S43) = 0. (well, dB(S21)-dB(S43) Inside -0.1 to 0.1 dB, or similar)

That's what I can think of from a high-level view... the exact implementation isn't entirely clear, but I think something like that may be possible.

For a small number of variables, i will recommend tuning the variables using the tuner to perform the curve fitting. It is faster, and it gives you a feel for the sensitive variables.
It is usually more effective to use the optimizer for a large number of variables in a complex schematic since the setting up of the optimizer and relevant goals take a bit of time. Moreover, the optimizer is not foolproof. It generally needs human supervision.

Hi,
Actually i have the data of loss tangent vs frequency of a Tfbar so i already have design but i have to produce the same data with simulation of my Tfbar in ADS.I have three variable data like Acoustic velocity, thickness of Active layer and coupling coefficient.I dont know the exact value of the velocity and thickness thats why i have to calculate the velocity and thickness by plotting the same curve as i get from measurement.Actually i have put the goal expression of loss tangent it works but the problem is that optimization doesnot give me exact graph.I also want to know that is this possible in ADS that i can get the function of the curve by giving tha data range.Actually i dont have peak but have certain curves at different frequency......Thanks
