I am quite new to this so please be patient with me and forgive any errors in terminology I may make. I shall endeavor to be as clear as I can and correct any errors I get called on.
I am trying to make a few different things that when combined will have the following effect:
When a reed switch is triggered 2-4 LEDs flash and a small beeper will sound for approx 3 seconds. After that, a voice recorder will play a prerecorded script for approx 40 seconds.
I have found various schematics online and components at radio shack (like the voice recorder) but need some help understanding how to properly put them together and calibrate them (like the LED flashing time and the beeper volume/time)
I am hoping to open an email dialogue with someone as I bet the majority of people here wont be helped or interested in seeing someone teach someone else who is dumber then a bag of sticks.
Thank you for your time.
Oh, and if anything here was unclear, incomplete or such, please let me know and I will be happy to clear it up as best I can.

hello friend let me know components in your hand or you are selected for this project, so i can help precisely to make working model.

Thank you for your reply. Do you mind if I email you?

I found a schematic for a beeper here beeper circuit diagram. But I am unable to figure out construction from it. Or how to modify it in terms of volume/length.
I also found a radio shack voice recorder here 9V Recording Module - RadioShack.com. But it only goes for 2 seconds so I may need to modify it or build my own.
As for parts I have in hand, I dont have any parts as I am not to sure where to start with this.

as per your requirement , I think you need a reed switch or magnetic switch, 555 timer Ic to produce delay, IC APR9600, or HM2007 to store voice messages and 1 buzzer and an leds with power supply...

Do you need to implement it only on hardware or using controller where you can connect them and control through programming

hello friend, the beeper you are selected is good you can tune tone and get enough sound but need small corrections. As i understood from your requirement beeper is to get some attention of people to listen and operate for 3 sec but it is continous beeper and create annoyance while playing recorded mesage.:?
you have to modify first stage of 555 IC as monostable for 3sec then it will make an alert sound of 3sec and stop.
second thing you should be clear of your reed switch operation, is it continous held operated or momentory. depending on reed switch operation you need to configure triggering of 1st 555 IC.
the following link make u clear about 555Ic

when comes to voice recorder if you want to build from scratch the followind data sheet will help.
**broken link removed**
make your project modular and first get rid of reed switch and beeper in your project
