HI all,
Please refer boblick's LCD Term( As I am unable to post Links) by googling you can get the link.
My question is in place of the LCD I want to put 20 5x7 led matrix.
What I think is, If I take the LED driver section of Elektor 2001 LED display and connect to this circuit then will it work? I am not an Electronics Engineer, but a software engineer  .

I think several people are here who already have done it. If some one can put a modified schematic then It will be of immense help.

I know The LCD and LED don't have the same driving mecanism. Even I know we can't use the LCD controller for controlling LED matrix. What I want to know is How to make a LED matrix circuit which can be interfaced with the **broken link removed**

Well Let me put it in a different way.
I need some display tobe connected to my Serial port or USB port using usb -to-seral converter and What ever is on the RS-232 should be displayed on the display. but the display in my case is LED matrix( 20 of 5x7).
What I have achieved till date is Learnt about shift registers(74ls164) to drive the columns.
3 to 8 decoder(74ls138 ) which generates a row scan.
Now I can send column data to the shift register and the coresponding LED in the matrix is lit up when the row scan scans the perticular row.
For this I am referring Elektor 2001 June.
The Article published, in the issue is not working as it should so I am stuck up and can't advance with my design.

Can any body here help me with some thing Else?

Thanks
Ashok.
