[SOLVED] gsm phone detail required

you can easily find several GSM modules available for online purchase.. u can try with them.

but in my project i am in need to send sms only...gsm modem cost is high...so i am in dilemma to choose whether gsm phone or gsm modem
 

i'd still suggest to go for a separate GSM module coz in my opinion GSM phones wud be difficult to interface with PC or microcontroller.. GSM phones are designed for different purpose and u mite need a different software for its configuration.. someone please tell me if I am wrong. Also GSM module wudnt be that costly.. u can easily get it for around 2.5-3K
 

k....is there any gsm modem without gprs....i need only to send & receive sms...no other features are required
 

Search for Simcom modules which is available @ b'lore & for the mobile try with ericsson or siemens phones which will support AT commands.

I found a list of all these phone of NOKIA supporting AT commands.Do check that out.
1110,1112,2300,2600,3120,3210,3300,3310… N70,N80,E50,E60.

That i don't know abhishek as i have not do it.I think the usage of cable is mentioned in one of the links which i have posted earlier.
