Hello everybody,

I'm still a student in my final year now, I was searching the internet about motors methods and I found the sensorless BLDC motor!. Sorry, but I'm new in this. I've studied the BLDC motor with sensors on the shaft. Now I like the idea of sensorless drive and I'm thinking about making a graduation project about it. I read that there're many ways to drive a sensorless motor. one of them is direct EMF detection!. I read some documents, but the problem is that I dridnt undestand the principle of work! or how it works!. I tried to understand how to detect the zero-crossing, or why do we need to detect the signal but i didnt understand many things :( ..

Plz, any help any document about this will be appraised!. I need to understand the principle ideas and maybe to simulate the motor after that .. thanks to all .. :)

thanks alot Scanman

any further help would help alos .. I need to read many important document to understand it all .. also anything about simulation will be appreciated , thanks to all

Ok, I would like to understand something, can I use an 8-bit micro controller in sensorless drive?

You can use PIC18f4550.....worked fine for me.
