hello friends,
In the matching technique, there are two types, 1D and 2D

which one is preferable and why?

can anyone explain?

Matching Technique

what is 1D and 2D ?
1 dummy and 2 dummy?

Re: Matching Technique

1D is one dimentional common centroid matching and 2D is 2 dimentional common centroid ,

for example if we are matching two transistor A & B , then one dimention will be
ABBA
or
BAAB

were as if we go for 2D then we would match in this ways

AB
BA

or vise versa, well its also depends on the order

Generally 2D is prefer type of matching technique.

Re: Matching Technique

can you explain why?

becos nowadays most of the companies not preferring 2D...

i got this question from one interview...

Matching Technique

thanks, shashikumar.22
padmanabanks, i think 2D is better for having taken the process gradient issue into account

Re: Matching Technique

prcken...can u explain me briefly??? im not getting clear with that answer..

Matching Technique

i am not a process guy, but i am trying

you can not promise different locations on the same wafer are the absolutely same in terms of doping, there are graded errors caused by the temperature, process and electrical gradients.
