engineeers I would like to make a DVM(digital Volt Meter) using PIC controller help me out plz...!!!
yes and the specifications are
it should be 300 V AC & DC
result would be shown on & 7segment
and programmed on assembly language

Hi,
Do you need only 300V AC/DC to measure or some other ranges too?
What kind of precision do you need pls?
K.

it would be easyer to buy a cat 3 rated digital multimeter

OK welcome in club:),
than; you need an attenuator of 2 resistors for adapt the 300V to the ADCs range, i.e. 300V:100= 3V range for your uP, I think PIC has an OnChip ADC with up to 2.5 or 3V input range?
For AC signal (is it only mains or some audio frequency too?) you need an "active rechtifier" i.e. 2 opamps_ the part of analog adaption is practically finished.
Ev. you need a reference voltage & negativ supply generator too_depend of ADCs capabilities.
Apropos; what is your target PIC pls?
K.

You don't ask for much on your first post :D , I've got a good tip others may help if you said I've done this this my circuit and code but i'm stuck

How is your electronics and code skills because by the sound of very little,
So why don't you do some research on it then come back :D

i dont want to buy it I want to make it myself
This may be your best option has it may be chaeper to buy than pay someone to design it for you, Oh I remeber you want us to desing it for you and that way you don't have to buy it:D

following diagram is made by me I want help in order to correct it and coding tooo

Added after 1 minutes:

this is what i made it on 8051 myself i need to program the controller

Added after 5 minutes:

this is what i designed on pic 16f676. I know this would'nt be able to measure the voltages which I mentioned above. but really what I need to know is how to write the code for it in assembly and what additional circuitry I need to put in it...thanking u for ur quick reponse

Hi,
Im "only" an analog type...
Take the LM336/0--3V range version from pp8, you will use/adapt it light i.e. for an temp metere too:)...(pp12).

Here a possible rectifier:

With the 3x Amp Prec Rect. (w*w.discovercircuits.com/DJ-Circuits/fullrect.htm) you can have all + electronics (2.5V ref parts Op too) in a 4x package:)...
Good luck!

Other one (very good) rectifier idea!: w*w.edn.com....090105.di.pdf...
