What is difference netween Cadence SOC encounter and first encounter

both are used to do floorplaning and place&route so what is the difference

I'm not sure if you can do full routing with first encounter. If you want to do complete RTL to GDSII you will need SOC encounter.

Re: What is difference Cadence SOC encounter and first encou

Go to the Cadence website and read the basic promotional materials on their various products. That will tell you everything you need to know.

Re: What is difference Cadence SOC encounter and first encou

SoC encounter is RTL -GDSII
while First encounter is only Floorplan, which doesnt includes nanoroute for routing

I only know the SOC encounter. It is very strong.

SOC Encounter includes the routing capability (Nano Route) whereas First Encounter doesn't. You need separate license for Nano-Route when you use First Encounter.
