question of resistor

I have a Ion generator Kit it uses (30) 1N4007 diodes and (30) 0.01uF capacitors and the resistors are 3M3. I want to up my capacitors to 100n so that I can generate more ions, so my question is does that mean i need to up the resistors at the end of the chain? if so to what? Thanks in advance!

objective question of resistor

You don't need to increase the capacitor value, although you can if you wish. It is the length of the diode/capacitor chain that sets the end voltage and ion discharge rate. note that there is a law of diminishing returns with this kind of generator, eventually the diode losses and chain impedance make the increase get smaller as it gets longer.

Re: Question about resistor

I had an opportunity to work with similar circuit at a different magnitude. The resistors and capacitors were in parallel with the diodes. Their purpose you must be knowing. Increase in these capacitor values will increase the ac component at the output but my not help increasing current capacity.
What comes to my mind is to check if the current capacity of the ac input to the chain is sufficient to reach what you plan to. If it is not, try to use higher input ac sourcing capacity.
