voice codec interfacing to microcontroller

microcontroller voice

Hi all,

I need to Interface W6810 PCM voice codec from WINBOND to a MSP430 microcontroller from TI. MSP430F1611 to be precise.

how do u go about interfacing W6810 codec to the MSP430 microcontroller ?

I have the evaluation kit for the codec also.

Hi

Basically you can't conect a codec to microcontroller directly unless the micro have a hardware codec interface!.

And as far as I Know the MSP430F1611 dose not have codec interface

Also See atmel site they use to have application note for connecting codec to microcontroller - but you will need to add CPLD for the interface

You can also choose other microcontroller like the STM32F103 who have codec interface

codec voice for microcontroller

thank you bobcat1....but i was wondering if we can interface them using the unbuffered mode of the microcontroller (MSP430F1611) using their DIO and DCLK pins. if i can manage to get the digitized voice data from the codec, it can be given to the DIO pin of the micro along with a appropriate clock frequency given by the codec itself to DCLK pin.

will this work out??
