ferrite substrate

I want to design a microstrip with ferrite substrate in HFSS. However, when the ferrite substrate is biased by magnetic field, it seems that we cannot set the waveport on the ferrite substrate in the HFSS. So, how to simulate microstrip with ferrite substrate in HFSS? or how to set the waveport on the ferrite substrate?

hfss anisotropic

could you upload your design. How you are setting wave port?

microstrip best substrate materials

upload your design .i will help you out with the design.the waveports can be drawn irrespective of the substrate material.

simulating microstrip hfss

i have uploaded the file. i hope you can help me to set the waveport on the magnetic biased ferrite substate.
thanks a lot.

ferrite setting simulation hfss

I installed a wave port and validate the design, but did not simulate, I also added radiation boundary, u may change it as your need. inform me if u need further help.
remove pdf extension then run the file, since .hfss extension is not allowed

microstrip ferrite

when i simulate the file, error occurs. the follow is the error message:

[error] Port refinement, process abc3d : Anisotropic material principal axis on "WavePort1" must align with the port normal.
[error] Simulation completed with execution error on server: Local Machine.

i don't know how to set the waveport. can you?

Re: how to simulate microstrip with ferrite substrate in HFS

I set a rectangle perpendicular to strip line. I selected the rectangle by select object tool, the right click mouse, go to excitations and select wave port and follow the dialog box

Yes,now i can set waveport with your guide. however, there maybe some errors. when I simulate this microstrip, error occurs with the follow message:

[error] Port refinement, process abc3d : Anisotropic material principal axis on "WavePort1" must align with the port normal.
[error] Simulation completed with execution error on server: Local Machine.

who can help me ?

when I simulate the microstrip with magntic biased ferrite substrate in HFSS, error occurs with the follow message:

[error] Port refinement, process abc3d : Anisotropic material principal axis on "WavePort1" must align with the port normal.
[error] Simulation completed with execution error on server: Local Machine.

hi i want links to hfss program can any one help me please bye

you need a buffer. You can use a dielectric with small thickness. However, you need to match it to the ferrite.

Yes thats true you have to terminate the ferrite before the waveport i.e ferrites can't touch ports as it gives error.

When designing a problem containing ferrite materials and ports, do not arrange the port so that it touches the ferrite material. If you must place a port on a ferrite material, separate the two with a dielectric with a relative permittivity equal to the relative permittivity of the ferrite.
