what does the word pitch mean

What does the word pitch mean when referring to pins?
For example, I am looking at header connectors online and the choice of pitch is either .07 or .1.
Thanks!
Nora

what does the word pitch mean

Pitch is just the distance between two pins (e.g. center to center).
Common units can be inch, mil or mm. In your case I think it's inch. So a pitch of 0.1 (inch) = 2.54mm
