If you are just practicing, then try downloading code examples from the Microchip website. There are tons of appnotes with code included, for many applications.

I looked alot but I couldnot find for pic16f688. I also looked microchip but in code samples I found most for pic18f. I am programing for detecting heartbeat and I want use pic 16.

You can use PIC16f628a code with slit modification for programing and testing of 16f688. This is having PORTA and PORTC almost all pins are used for multiple operation, have to care of that . Apart from this for your project ADC module is needed, go with programing for same.
