hello everyone
in a battery charging circuit how can i regulate ac mains through triac
 

you can use variac (variable transformer)
or transformer with multi turns with relays..
and switching ckt..

voltage regulation = (no load voltage - full load voltage) / full load voltage

in the above diagram by varying the pulse width you can change the output power.... you just have to filter it to get the output you need....
