What is the significance of L in 16LF870?

can u please tell me wht is the significane of L in 16LF870 ?/

Its nothing just supply voltage .
Regular L series mcu like 16f877 work at 4.0-5.5V range but LF series like the one you mentioned 16LF870 works at 2.0-5.5V range .

i heard frm somewhere that it also specifies the maximum clock frequency of the pic is it true ?
