check this out Bro:

NAT: Network Address Translation
It's about translate your IP network then send it to the destination
This kind of method is very usefull and effective when we want to press the use of the IP number.

For example:

We have a big network in our company, then we will need so many IP number since all of the employees using computer connected to the company's network
Then, someday you will find that you don't have any IP to use anymore. What should I do? you said. By using NAT, we can use the same IP number in the different network. All you need is make a smaller network scale then you can use the same IP, in those different new small network. So when Host A using IP 192.168.23.23 and Host B also use this IP number, since they were in the different small network we have builded, it's no problem to connect them using NAT
They can communicate using NAT. So, when Host A send data to Host B, while it leave network A n enter NAT, the NAT will translate it's IP to be the other new IP then send the packet/data to Host B. When Host B wanna send data to, it will use the same method

Hope it will help you Bro

Re: What is NAT??

Hi,

In Information Theory "nats" is something different.

If you are measring the entropy of a random variable and if the base of the logarithm is e, then the entropy is measured in "nats",

For further details you can see "Elements of Information Theory" by Thomas J. Cover.

I hope this will help you. Please press helped me.

I think Telecom_society means NAT in TCP/IP so it's mean Network Address Translation

Well, i don't mean that you do something wrong guys..

:)

Re: What is NAT??

Hi,

Does it? Telecom_Society !!!!

TCP/IP is just one part of telecom (data networks) and doesnt it better to understand some other aspects of technical terms?

I have my reservations that Telecom_society means automatically TCP/IP. In my view thats not the only meaning rather just a little part of GIANT TELECOM world.

Re: What is NAT??

NAT is Network Address Translation.
Basically, when an ISP has to allocate an IP address to an organisation,it gives the organisation just one IP address. Then the organisation uses its own internal private network to connect all the computers within it.Thus, the computers on the private network cannot directly communicate with the public network.
When a computer on a private network wants to communicate to the rest of teh internet,NAT converts its datagram(private) address back to the network address at the proxy server.
NAT,thus, is basically used to map the datagram address to network address
